Ecology:
Paspalum conjugatum is widespread annual
. It grows from
near sea-level up to 1700 m
altitude
in open to moderately shaded
and moist places. It is adapted to humid climates. It is found growing
gregariously under plantation crops
and also frequently found on
the banks of water courses
, back waters and roadsides and in disturbed
areas, and polluted waters. It also grows in seasonally flooded places,
in marshes, in ditches, in rice fields
and draining
plantations.
