I'd like to know the botanical name of this most exquisite philodendron species.  The leaves are up to 12" long, but it's the hairy stem that makes it intriguing.  This will be its' first bloom.

I wish I could pay you back for your earlier help with identifying my plant photo!  Thanks for posting the question here. Traffic will build, and we'll get a solution.

Grin Hi, I realize that this posting is several months old,
and susan.fortune may have already gotten the answer to her ID question.
But,  Wink just in case she hasn't, I think that the Philo in the photos
is P. squamiferum which is characterized by the glossy five-lobed foliage
and those wonderful "fuzzy" leaf stalks.

I'd have to agree with zuzus petals on this one.  P. squamiferum seems correct.  One note.  I went to a certain website that sells a variety of phillys and it said there are a lot of places that sell under the name of P. squamiferum, when actually what they are selling is a hybrid of P. laciniatum and P. pedatum - hybrids are common enough with philodendrons to confuse nomenclature a bit.  You mentioned a first flower?  Did that help with the id?
