Status: Accepted Name

Comment: Subgenus
: Sorex
Last scrutiny: 28-Nov-2006
For many years this taxon
was known only from the type
locality
,
and another location close by in southern Gansu. Several additional
specimens have now been taken in southwest Gansu, adjacent
Qinghai,
and one from east Xizang (Smith and Xie 2008). Moreover, these new
specimens are from localities where S. caecutiens also occurs,
therefore supporting the separate species status of S. cansulus
(Smith and Xie 2008).[1].
