Flores-Villela. Flores-Villela et al.
(1991) cited the correct number
as MZFC 864. Etymology
: The name is a patronym
for Dr. Prococo Palacios,
of Comunidad Rancho el Capuli´n. The name Sceloporus altamontanus
is an unavailable name. The name was not published in conformance
with Art.
8a(1) ("issued publicly for the purposes of providing a
permanent scientific record
") of the 1985 International Code of Zoological
Nomenclature
. The specific issue was brought to the attention of
the International Commission
on Zoological Nomenclature
(Smith et
al. 1993), and in the 1999 Code the applicability of the 1985 Article
was confirmed and made more explicit that meeting abstracts are not
nomenclaturally published (cited from BELL et al. 2003).
