Habitat

Typically found in water with a depth of 0 to -1,018 meters (0 to -3,340 feet).[2]

Biome: Marine [3].

Ecology: This reef-associated species inhabits sandy and muddy substrate in shallow waters to a depth of 25m. In the Gulf of Chiriqui, this species is found in deep rocky wall reefs and in shallow pocilloporid reefs. This species can be observed in daylight searching for prey under rocks and in crevices over rocky substrate, or buried completely in the sand (Thomson et al. 1979).[3].
