Habitat

Biome: Terrestrial ; Freshwater [1].

Ecology: All three Peninsular Malaysian localities are in forest where foothills meet lowland. In Indonesia the species is found in forest at low and higher altitudes . It breeds in stagnant ponds and slow-flowing water. It is usually confined to forest and forest edge habitats . [1].

This species might be synonymous with Microhyla superciliaris (see Berry 1975). However, D. Iskandar (pers. comm. ) considers that it is a separate species.[1].
