Habitat

Ecology: This brackish species occurs in mangrove swamps, in rivers and estuaries, and can also be found on the roots of plants in lagoons and ditches just behind the shoreline (Van Regteren Altena 1969). This species forages for mangrove leaf litter at low tide and climbs tree trunks to avoid salt-water inundation during high tide (Proffitt and Devlin 2005).[1].
