Description
Habitat
Ecology:
This brackish
species occurs in mangrove swamps, in rivers
and estuaries,
and can also be found on the roots
of plants
in lagoons
and ditches
just behind
the shoreline
(Van Regteren Altena 1969). This species
forages
for mangrove
leaf litter
at low tide
and climbs tree
trunks
to avoid salt-water inundation during high tide
(Proffitt and Devlin
2005).[1].
