Habitat

Typically found in a lake at a mean distance from sea level of 758 meters (2,488 feet).[1]

Ecology: It lives in rainforest, including coastal littoral forest , but not in degraded areas. It is usually found near streams and swamps in sandy areas. It breeds in swamps.[2].
