These species having no living representatives. As defined by the IUCN, extinct taxa are
species or other taxa that are no longer known to exist in the wild after repeated search of their type locality
and other locations where they were known or likely to have occurred. A taxon
is extinct when there is no reasonable doubt that the last individual has died.
