Last scrutiny: 17-Oct-2001
This species is in need of genetic validation; it is considered distinct
by Turgeon et al. (1998), but not by Johnson (1972), who lists
it as a synonym of Elliptio jayensis, and Heard (1979). A
list of synonyms for this species can be found on The MUSSEL project
web site (Graf and Cummings 2011).[1].
