Notes
Name
Status: Accepted Name
.
Anolis cristifer was originally
considered to be a subspecies
of A.
pentaprion, based on a single male specimen the characteristics
of which appeared to fall
within the variations
shown by southern
populations of A. pentaprion
(Smith 1968). It was elevated
to species status based on distinct
differences in scalation
by Köhler and Acevedo (2004) and Köhler
(2008). Since this species has not received much research attention,
the taxonomy of it may still need to be resolved.[1].
