Physical Description

Genus Macbrideola:

Sporocarps small, stipitate, globose to ovate. Stalk translucent, hollow (trapped air is often seen in liquid mounts). Columella usually present. Peridium fugaceous or persistent. Capillitium present or absent.

Species Macbrideola vesiculifera:

This sp. was described on the basis of its 1-5 µm diam. capillitial swellings. It is considered here to represent malformed M. cornea. See N+N+B Vol.3:249 = M. cornea
