Sporocarps small, stipitate, globose to ovate. Stalk translucent, hollow (trapped air is often seen in liquid mounts). Columella usually present. Peridium fugaceous or persistent. Capillitium present or absent.
Sporocarps scattered or solitary, 0.5-0.6 mm tall. Stalk slender, somewhat subulate, cylindrical, hollow, translucent, sometimes yellow at the base, brown above. Sporotheca globose, brown, 0.08-0.15 mm diam. Peridium evanescent. Columella reaching to the centre of the sporotheca. Capillitium lax, brown, arising from the tip of the columella, consisting of 3-4 slender, brown branches which fork dichotomously several times with no anastomoses. Spore-mass brown. Spores violet grey, minutely verrucose, bearing scattered, prominent clusters of warts, 6.5-7 µm diam.
