Sporocarps small, stipitate, globose to ovate. Stalk translucent, hollow (trapped air is often seen in liquid mounts). Columella usually present. Peridium fugaceous or persistent. Capillitium present or absent.
Sporocarps scattered, stalked, 0.2-0.5(-0.8) mm total height. Sporotheca globose, subglobose to cylindrical, 0.1-0.3 mm diam., occasionally ovoid, silvery, shining. Hypothallus wide, reddish yellow by TL. Stalk cylindrical, black, reddish yellow to orange at the base, 0.2-0.4 mm total height, indistinctly longitudinally striate at the base. Peridium persistent, simple, thin, membranous, silvery and shining, pale purplish by TL, attached to the capillitium, usually with a portion remaining as a 30-60 µm diam. collar. Columella a continuation of the stalk, reaching to the apex of the sporotheca, more slender at the apex. Capillitium flexuous, arising from all parts of the columella, anastomosed, dichotomously branched, brown, stout, united with the peridium, attenuate outwards, free ends ending in a 'Y', (1-)2-3(-5) µm diam. and occasionally ornamented with a few spines. Spore-mass dark brown. Spores free, globose, with a clearer zone, pale purplish brown by TL, (8-)9-10 µm diam., densely, regularly and minutely warted. On leaf litter of Quercus and Acer, Mexico.
