Brazil, from Minas Gerais to Paraná. Type collection from the department of Cuzco. First described from a collection from Coclé in Panama, the species has since been reported from Costa Rica, south Mexico, Colombia and probably elsewhere. The species is known from a collection taken from the province of Panamá.
