Borut Furlan has been named ZipcdoeZoo's Photographer of the Month for March, 2006. Borut has spent much of his life underwater, bringing its citizens to our desktops in all their beauty. His photos seem to capture the adventure of being a fish, a nudibranch, a crab or shrimp. They capture the richness and diversity of that world, and especially capture its beauty. Borut's photos provide a good example of how we like to see living things: in their habitat, doing their thing, close, but untroubled by our presence. We are delighted that Borut has shared over 5,000 of his photos with us.

Borut Furlan lives in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He has a B.Sc.and M.Sc. both in Chemistry from the University of Ljubljana. He works as a specialist for the synthesis of organic molecules at the International Pharmaceutical Group. He started diving in 1977, and has logged nearly 3,000 dives. His favorite diving areas: Slovenia - Slovenian coast Cr oatia, Istra, Kvarner (Krk, Cres, Lošinj and neighbour islands), Dalmacija (Kornati, Hvar, Vis, Korcula, Lastovo, Mljet and neighbour islands), all outer Dalmatian islands (Jabuka, Svetac, Brusnik, Biševo, Sušac, Palagruža), Italy (Trieste, Sardinia), France (Illes d’Hyeres, Marseille), Spain (Costa Brava, Menorca), Turkey (Kas), Norway (Alesund), Egypt (Sinai, Hurghada, Safaga, Marsa Alam), Cuba, (Jardines de la Reina), Maldives (Bandos, Elaidhoo), Indonesia (Sulawesi - Manado), The Philippines (Puerto Galera, Tubbataha - Sulu sea), Solomon islands (Nggele islands, Marovo Lagoon), Thailand (Phuket, Similan islands), Southa Africa (Aliwal Shoal), and Mozambique (Ponta do Ouro).
