A class or superclass of Protozoa containing the Rhizopoda (amoebas and formaniferans) and Actinopda (heliozoans and radiolarians), which have pseudopodia* or actinopodia, little differentiation of the body and no flagella at any stage.
The Phylum Sarcodina is further organized into finer groupings including:
