African Giant Squirrels ( Protoxerus) form a taxon of squirrels under the subfamily Sciurinae. They are only found in Africa.
There are two species of African giant squirrels:
- Slender-tailed Squirrel, Protoxerus aubinnii
- Forest Giant Squirrel or Stanger's Squirrel, Protoxerus stangeri
