Pteriomorphia is a subclass of the Bivalvia. Apart from the orders Arcoida, Mytiloida, Ostreoida, and Pterioida, it also contains some extinct and probably basal families, such as the Evyanidae, Colpomyidae, Bakevelliidae, Cassianellidae and Lithiotidae. [more]

Trigonioida

The Trigoniacea are medium-sized saltwater clams, marine bivalve mollusks. This superfamily is the sole representative of the order Trigonioida. Within the fossil record the occurrence of this superfamily is widespread, from the Devonian Period to Recent. [more]
