Adult : Head : Crown: white with bold black stripes Face : Eyebrow Line : white Postocular Stripe : black Bill: pink to dull yellow Neck: Throat : whitish gray Body: Belly: white Flanks: brownish wash Sides: brownish wash Underparts: grayish Upperparts: brownish with blackish brown streaks.

About 5.75 to 7.5 inches long, with a wingspan of 9.25 to 10.25 inches. Adults weigh about 1 ounce .
