Physical Description

Adult : Head : heavy brown streaks Bill: blackish with trace of dusky-olive at base Length : medium-length Shape : straight, thin Neck: heavy brown streaks Length: long Body: Breast: heavy brown streaks Flanks: sparse brown streaks Mantle: blackish grayish with white spots Shape: slender Size: medium Legs : Leg Color: orange-yellow Leg Length: long Wings : Tertials: blackish grayish with white spots.

About 10.5 inches long, with a wingspan of 19 to 22 inches. Adults weigh about 2.9 ounces .

Habitat

Found along shallow mud flats and beaches.
