Habitat

Typically found in a lake at a mean distance from sea level of 85 meters (277 feet).[1]

Ecology: Sympetrum striolatum inhabits a wide range of habitats , especially preferring warm, stagnant waters. These are often shallow and bare; this species is a pioneer of newly created ponds . Occasionally found in flowing or brackish waters.[2].
