Shell permanently cemented to a hard substratum (usually rock), coiled loosely or irregularly and generally twisted, resembling the calcareous tube of a serpulid polychaete more then a snail shell

Habitat

Typically found at an altitude of 0 to 324 meters (0 to 1,063 feet).[1]
