Physical Description
Adult Female Summer: Body: Underparts: chestnut-red.Adult Male Summer: Head : Crown: black Face : white Forehead: black Bill: yellowish with black tip and black feathers at base Body: Underparts: chestnut-red Upperparts: dark gray feathers fringed with rufous-buff.
Size/Age/Growth
About 8 to 9 inches long, with a wingspan of 14 to 16 inches. Adults weigh about 1.8 ounces .
