Physical Description
Adult : Face : Eyebrow Line : white Eye Stripe: black patch Bill: blue-gray Neck: Collar : blue-gray half-collar Body: Back: blackish w-shaped marking extending out to wings Underparts: white Upperparts: blue-gray Legs : Foot Color: blue Wings : Greater Coverts: blackish Undersides: white Tail: gray with black tip Shape : wedge-shaped.
Habitat
Typically found at an altitude of 0 to 3,286 meters (0 to 10,781 feet).[1]
Ecology:
This species breeds
on slopes
under grass
tussocks
, in rock crevices
or scree, or on cliffs
. Its prey
is mostly crustaceans (especially
krill, copepods
and amphipods
), but also small quantities of fish
and squid1.
