Description

Habitat

Vegetation: tropical lowland evergreen forest • Maximum Elevation: 900 meters • Zoogeographic Region: o • Foraging Strata: ? • Center of Abundance: Hill tropical: hills and lower slopes, 500-900 m; tropics. • Sensitivity to Disturbance: High

Ecology: It inhabits humid and wet, lowland, foothill and premontane forest to 1,500 m , and is dependent on undisturbed closed-canopy habitat1,9. It preys largely on small, ground-dwelling animals, notably Anolis lizards9. It has a relatively small home range during the breeding season (March-August)9. Nests are placed in tree-cavities9.
