Description
Family Fringillidae
A Family of seed-eating, small to moderately large passerine birds that have strong , stubby beaks, which in some species can be quite large. They have a bouncing flight, alternating flapping with gliding on closed wings. Most sing well.
Habitat
Typically found at an altitude of 0 to 3,180 meters (0 to 10,433 feet).Mean = 936.170 meters (3,071.424 feet), Standard Deviation = 860.670 based on 9,594 observations. Altitude information for each observation from British Oceanographic Data Centre.
