Habitat
Vegetation: freshwater marshes, pelagic waters • Foraging Strata: Water • Center of Abundance: Lower subtropical: lowlands, lower than 500 m.; subtropics. • Sensitivity to Disturbancet: High
Typically found in water with a depth of 0 to -4,778 meters (0 to -15,676 feet).Mean = -1,466.630 meters (-4,811.778 feet), Standard Deviation = 1,512.550 based on 83 observations. Ocean depth information for each observation from British Oceanographic Data Centre.
Ecology: It breeds
in colonies, from sea-level to cliff-tops, and sometimes inland. It feeds
on krill and other crustaceans, squid, octopus
