Physical Description

Adult : Head : Crown: black bordering brown with small horn-like tufts Face : yellowish or white Forehead: yellowish or white Lores : black Bill: black Neck: Throat : pale yellow to white Body: Back: brown Chest: white with black bib Flanks: sandy buff wash Rump : brown Sides: sandy buff wash Underparts: white Tail: black with white outer feathers.

Size/Age/Growth

About 6.5 to 8 inches long, with a wingspan of 12.5 to 14 inches. Adults weigh about 1.1 ounces .

Habitat

Usually seen in agricultural fields and pastures, and on sandy beaches.
