Physical Description

Size/Age/Growth

By far the most common wentletrap on our beaches. Most of the perceived variability in this species is the result of allometric growth. Plump juveniles grow into slender adults . The dying snail may secrete a beautiful lavender stain onto its shell as a final signature.

Habitat

Typically found in the intertidal zone at the water's edge at a mean distance from sea level of 359 meters (1,177 feet).[1]

Biome: Coastal.
