Physical Description
Size/Age/Growth
Males are commonly 90 cm (Total Length) in length when caught/marketed, but may be as large as 180 cm (Total Length).
Habitat
Found in oceanic and coastal waters , generally near the surface over reefs or sometimes far from the coast[1][2][3]. May be found at depths of 0 to 150 meters. Usually found at depths of 2 to 10 meters.
Typically found in water with a depth of 0 to -5,351 meters (0 to -17,556 feet).[4]

Diet
Feeds on invertebrates (larger crustaceans of the zooplankton ) and small fishes [1][5].
Behavior
Sound types : grunts . Sound organ: pharyngeal teeth and swim bladder . Sonic mechanism: not specified but probably like other carangids (stridulation of teeth amplified by swim bladder).
