Habitat

48636). May be found at depths of 1 to 25 meters.

Typically found in water with a depth of 0 to -6,000 meters (0 to -19,685 feet).[2]

Ecology: This species inhabits coastal and inner reefs, often in turbid water. It occurs either singly or in pairs. The elongated snout is adapted for feeding on benthic invertebrates from small crevices (G.R. Allen pers. comm. 2006).[3].
