Family : Cardinalfishes ; Inhabits lagoon reefs[1] and silty habitats in among boulders in seagrass areas; juveniles among urchin spines[2]. Sexual maturity reached at about 7 to 8 cm (Ref. 8525).

Habitat

May be found at depths of 2 to 10 meters.

Typically found in water with a depth of 0 to -5,004 meters (0 to -16,417 feet).[3]

Ecology: The Truncate Cardinalfish is found on the fore-slope of coastal coral reefs, lagoon patch reefs and in silty habitats at a depth range of 2-10 m. Adults of this species are solitary and can be found among boulders , under plate corals , among corals, or in seagrass meadows. Juvenile C. singapurensis often swim among the spines of sea urchins.[4].
