Habitat

Typically found in a lake at a mean distance from sea level of 789 meters (2,589 feet).[2]

Biome: Freshwater [3].

Ecology: The species occupies open waters or the pelagic environment. It migrates up the rivers for spawning during the rainy season . It is carnivorous , feeding on invertebrates , especially zooplankton , snails and insect larvae.[3].
