Description
Habitat
Prefers open areas with scattered trees , semi-open spaces, and the edge of forests .
Vegetation: tropical deciduous forests, tropical lowland evergreen forest, gallery forests, tropical lowland evergreen forest, second-growth forests and woodlands • Maximum Elevation: 1,200 meters • Foraging Strata: Canopy • Center of Abundance: Lower tropical: lowlands, lower than 500 m.; tropics. • Sensitivity to Disturbance: L?
Typically found at an altitude of 0 to 4,701 meters (0 to 15,423 feet).[1]

Biology
Diet
Feeds on fruit and seeds from Ficus trees , and other trees such as Cecropia and Ceibo, as well as flowers and nectar from Poro, Guaba, and Balsa trees.
Reproduction
As with many other parakeets, preferred nesting sites are empty termite nests . Several pairs may nest in a large termite nest or the same dead tree . Each pair makes their own cavity .
Behavior
Forms flocks of up to 50 individuals, but during the breeding season , forms pairs or smaller groups.
