Physical Description
Adult Gray Morph : Head : Crest : small Neck: Sides: black ruffs used in display Body: Underparts: brown or gray-barred Upperparts: brown or gray with heavy white spotting Tail: multibanded rusty-red or gray with wide dark band and whitish tip.

About 17 inches long, with a wingspan of 22 to 25 inches. Adults weigh about 22.4 ounces .
