Habitat

Ecology: It inhabits marshes in forests , grassland, and the surrounding areas. Males call from tree holes , which is also where the eggs are laid (rather than in ponds ); the water in these holes overflows during heavy rains and the tadpoles are washed into streams . (Ref. 56947)
