Range and Population:

Eastern Atlantic Ocean, Western Atlantic Ocean

Eastern Atlantic: Ireland to South Africa. Western Atlantic: Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea, off Suriname (Ref. 3587). Often confused with Bathygadus favosus.

Habitat Overview:

May be found at depths of 400 to 2600 meters. Usually found at depths of 700 to 1400 meters.

Biome:

Saltwater. Bathydemersal.
