Description
Habitat
Vegetation: montaine evergreen forests, arid lowland scrubs, second-growth scrub • Minimum Elevation: 1,300 meters • Maximum Elevation: 2,200 meters • Zoogeographic Region: Eastern Slope Andes • Foraging Strata: Understory/undergrowth • Center of Abundance: Middle montane: mountains, middle range, 1,600-2,600 m. • Sensitivity to Disturbance: Medium
Ecology:
At the only currently known locality
, it seems to have adapted well
to degraded forest
, thick secondary vegetation (especially where
vines
and remnant forest trees are present) and bushy, overgrown
bean-fields at 1,300-2,500 m 4. Observations
have been made of a juvenile
with parents in June, adults
collecting
nesting material
in October4, and immature
birds
in November.
