Habitat

Occurs in clear and flowing brooks in the mountainous rainforest of the inland plain [1].

Biome: Freshwater [2].

Ecology: Aphyosemion herzogi is found in clear and sometimes fast flowing, brooks in mountain rainforest inland plain (Wildekamp et al. 1986). It is a benthopelagic, non-migratory species. Aphyosemion (Mesoaphyosemion) herzogi is not a seasonal killifish. It is a bottom spawner with 1 month incubation (Huber 1996).[2].
