Physical Description

Size/Age/Growth

Males are commonly 80 cm (Total Length) in length when caught/marketed, but may be as large as 120 cm (Total Length).

Habitat

Lives in freshwaters , but also occurs in estuaries and in the sea during early life and near maturity[1]. Occurs in freshwater streams , pools and reservoirs and commonly found in mud substrates of tanks and in deep rock pools of rivers [2].

Typically found at an altitude of 0 to 1,379 meters (0 to 4,524 feet).[3]
