Family : Four-eyed fishes , onesided livebearers and white-eye; Mainly found in freshwater , sometimes in brackish parts of lagoons and mangrove coastlines[1]. Moves in schools[1]. Feeds on insects[2], other invertebrates and diatoms living on the mud , and small fishes[3]. Can remain on mud bottom exposed to air during low tide [1]. Used in eye research[4]. Often travels in schools[1].

Species Anableps anableps

Males are commonly 14 cm (Total Length) in length when caught/marketed, but may be as large as 30 cm (Total Length).

Habitat

Typically found at an altitude of 0 to 92 meters (0 to 302 feet).[5]
