Habitat

Biome: Marine .

Ecology: This species is found in shallow tropical reef ecosystems, favouring upper to mid-reef slopes and lagoons in areas with moderate to low wave exposure. It is usually recorded from 1 m to around 25 m (Aronson and Precht 2001a,b), with occasional records to 60 m (Goreau and Goreau 1973).

Recruitment by sexual reproduction is limited. [1].
